- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/4 cup sliced pickles
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef (or turkey), chopped onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
- Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty to melt.
- In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard to make the sauce.
- Brush the insides of the hamburger buns with melted butter, then toast them in the skillet or on the grill until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading a tablespoon of sauce on the bottom half of each bun.
- Place the cooked patties with melted cheese on the buns, then top with shredded lettuce, sliced pickles, and the top bun half.
