Description

This fun and unique Fried Chicken Ice Cream is a dessert that looks just like crispy fried chicken but is actually a deliciously creamy treat!

A rich vanilla ice cream base is shaped into drumstick-like scoops, coated in a crunchy cinnamon-cornflake mixture, and lightly broiled for a golden, crispy finish. The combination of creamy, cold ice cream and the warm, crispy coating creates an irresistible contrast in textures.

Drizzled with honey for extra sweetness, this no-fry dessert is perfect for parties, pranks, or simply indulging in a creative sweet treat!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Ice Cream:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

For the Coating:

  • 2 cups cornflakes, crushed
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

For the “Fried” Effect:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup honey

Instructions

  • Prepare the Ice Cream: In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt until sugar dissolves. Pour into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Once done, freeze for 3–4 hours until firm.
  • Shape the Ice Cream: Scoop the ice cream into round balls and place them on a lined baking sheet. Freeze for at least 2 hours to firm up.
  • Prepare the Coating: In a bowl, mix crushed cornflakes, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
  • Coat the Ice Cream Balls: Roll each ice cream ball in the cornflake mixture, pressing gently so the coating sticks. Return to the freezer for 30 minutes.
  • Create the “Fried” Effect: Drizzle melted butter over the coated ice cream balls and place them under a broiler for 30 seconds to 1 minute until golden brown. Be careful not to let them melt.
  • Finish and Serve: Drizzle honey over the top and serve immediately.
