Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (substitute for wine)
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water (slurry)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (optional, for extra richness)
  • Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.
  • Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for about 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  • Thicken the Sauce: Mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then add it to the skillet. Stir until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Coat the Chicken: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over it, and let it simmer for another 2 minutes. Add butter if using, and mix until melted.
  • Serve & Enjoy: Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions and serve hot with rice, quinoa, or roasted vegetables.
