Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb shaved beef (sirloin or ribeye, trimmed of excess fat)
- 2 tablespoons avocado oil or sesame oil
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (or hoisin as a substitute)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar (or lemon juice for non-fermented alternative)
- Cooked white rice or noodles, for serving
- Green onions and sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, beef broth, and rice vinegar. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add shaved beef in a single layer and cook quickly, about 2–3 minutes, until just browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same pan, add remaining oil. Sauté onions, broccoli, and bell pepper for 4–5 minutes until vegetables begin to soften.
- Stir in garlic and ginger; cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return the beef to the pan and pour in the sauce mixture. Toss everything together and cook for 2–3 more minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and everything is well coated.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
